Minister Rishad Bathiudeen and his party, the All Ceylon Makkal Congress, have decided to support President Mahinda Rajapaksa at the Presidential election next year.
The President’s media unit said that a delegation led by Bathiudeen had met the President today and conveyed the decision to support the President at the polls.
At the talks, the All Ceylon Makkal Congress had also handed over some proposals to be implemented by the government.
The President had told the All Ceylon Makkal Congress that everyone has a right to practice their religion in Sri Lanka and he will ensure that right is protected.
ACMC member of the Eastern Provincial Council has agreed to accept the parliamentary seat which was vacated by former national list Parliamentarian A.H.M. Azwer.
