Womens Squad to Pakistan Named

Chamari Atapattu will lead Sri Lanka when they take on Pakistan in the United Arab Emirates

Sri Lanka have named a 15-strong women’s squad which will take on Pakistan Women in a series of matches in January in the United Arab Emirates.

The two sides meet on 9th, 11th and 13th January in Sharjah in ICC Women’s Championship One-Day Internationals.

Sri Lanka currently sit in sixth place in the standings with three points, one place ahead of Pakistan, who have yet to get off the mark.

They will then play three Twenty20 Internationals on 15th, 16th and 17th January.

Sri Lanka named a 23-player training squad in October, from which Sanduni Abeywickrama, Inoshi Fernando, Nipuni Hansika, Dinesh Jayasinghe, Oshadi Ranasinghe, Malsha Shehani, Nilakshi Silva and Rebecca Vandort have missed out.

Abeywickrama, Hansika and Silva are named as standby players.
