India has more than halved its visa fee for Sri Lankans applying for the e-Tourist Visa to 25 US dollars from 60 dollars, the High Commission of India announced.

The bank charge of 2.5 percent will remain for the e-Tourist Visa which was introduced from 14 April 2015.

The High Commission of India said in a statement it hopes that more Sri Lankan nationals will use the opportunity to visit India using the e-Tourist Visa.
