Sri Lanka’s opposition forces have scored a point by gaining control over the select selection committee that prepares the parliamentary agenda.
Speaker Karu Jayasuriya confirmed that 121 MPs voted in favour of the composition of the Parliament Select Committee.
The speaker has given a clear message that he is going to run parliament his way and President Maithripala Sirisena needs to understand that he has lost control of the legislature.
On the other hand President Maithripala Sirisena the only one in office without undisputed power.
The newly appointed government has walked out in protest saying that it will not
accept Speaker karu Jayasooriya as the legitimate speaker .
The government boycott will only deepen the crisis and the greens and the others pushed to the opposition are in no mood to give up and settle for fresh parliamentary elections.
