Pastor Jerome not to be arrested on arrival

Pastor Jerome Fernando will not be arrested  on arrival at the Airpor

according to a  Court of Appeal ruling

He will have to make a statement to the CID within 48 hours after his return to Sri Lanka.

The CID wanted to record his statement over a controversial statement regarding Buddhism

A statement made by a Christian pastor, Pastor Jerome Fernando, was widely protested by  Buddhist monks, politicians and media who demanded immediate action to be taken against him for insulting the Buddha. A claim that has been refuted by many social activists and human rights campaigners

Jerome Fernando calls himself a prophet and has been able to reach out to a wide audience.
