By Kandy’s last king Sri Wickrema Rajasinha was commemorated in the South Indian city of Vellore on January 30.
The king died 191 years ago but was still remembered by his relatives in the suburb of Muttu Mandapam.
The kings who was sent to India by the British were held in custody in a mansion called Kandy Mahal and he lived there for 16 years and died at the age of 52.
