By A lawyer actively involved in the protest has petitioned the supreme court stating that the ‘Bureau of Rehabilitation bill enables the authorities to send anyone for rehabilitation without a judicial order.
Attorney-at-law Amila Suyama Egodamahawatta points out that the bill has been presented to hares those who were active in the Aragalaya protest movement.
The attorney is seeking a declaration that the bill requires approval by the people at a Referendum in addition to the 2/3 approval of the Parliament.
