The Chinese embassy in Sri Lanka tweeted Wednesday morning that the ticket was “forged” and asked users to verify before tweeting. However, the embassy thanked the mischief makers, “thanks for the free publicity though”.

Head of the Colombo Lotus Tower Management Company Major General (Retired) Prasad Samarasinghe announced that the first stage of the tower will be declared open on Thursday, the 15th of September 2022.

Samarasinghe said,

“the observation deck and a few areas in the tower will be open to the public.”

Stating that the tower will be open from 2 pm to 10 pm on weekdays and 12 pm to 11 pm on weekends, he said
