Journalist Nimalarajan’s murder: suspect arrested after 20 years

The London Met’s War Crimes team has come up with an interesting crime clue. They have come across an important clue of a murder that was committed about twenty years ago.

BBC world service stringer Mylvaganam Nimalarajan was killed in 2000 and no one has been punished yet for this cold blooded murder.

Now the Officers from the War Crimes Team – part of the Counter-Terrorism Command have arrested a 48-year-old man at an address in Northamptonshire on Tuesday, 22 February as part of a proactive operation.

He was arrested on suspicion of offenses under Section 51 of the International Criminal Court Act 2001. He was taken into custody and has since been released under investigation.

Mr Nimalarajan’s family who left Sri Lanka to live in Canada have been informed of the arrest.

The detectives are calling for further information from the public, specifically, the Sri Lankan community who have migrated to Europe are urged to assist in this complex investigation.
