Solar panels suggested to Buddhist clergy by Ranil

President Ranil Wickramasingha has clarified matters to the Mahanayaka thero’s who wrote to him regarding the increase in electricity bills at  Buddhist temples and other religious and social services
The President has pointed out that even with the increase in electricity charges, the highest monthly electricity bill of the 33,214 registered Buddhist temples and other religious and social services is less than Rs. 4,000.

There are about 10,000 religious locations that consume more than 180 units of electricity which have higher charges.

 The President has suggested that going for solar power would be the way forward d pointed out that and suggested the funding issues could be looked into.
